Beauty Unveiled

This is the ‘Final Major Project’(FMP) of my degree.

‘Beauty Unveiled’ seeks to celebrate and promote body positivity in women.

I have drawn inspiration from a variety of female forms with perceived ‘imperfections’, such as wrinkles, cellulite, folds and stretch marks.

Knit is used to create structural & textural pieces, unveiling imperfections as a celebration of life’s passage.

Beautiful Brutalism

Within this project I designed a luxury ready-to-wear knitwear collection, based on ‘Brutalist Architecture’ and inspired by Iris Van Herpen.

My colour palette was taken from photographs I took of the Barbican and UEA campus buildings. I was particularly interested in capturing the contrast between the warmth of the sunset on the buildings and their stark concrete forms.

Through this project I discovered a love for creating structural knit designs and an appreciation of brutalist architecture.
